Button Challenge - DT - Ship

Today's "DT Post Card"

Firstly an update on my house!  We are moving from May 6th-12th.  I can't wait to get everything set up into my new space!  Stay tuned, I'll post some pictures once things are set up!

I just love this card.  I love using duller colours and accenting the card with a bright colour such as this blue!  I took some papers and sewed some stripes of paper to the main card mat.  I then wrapped this blue dashed ribbon around the mat and then attached it to the blue card base!  I love how that looks.

Then I took this wonderful ship image and die cut it and the blue scalloped mat for the image to go on and attached it with pop dots to the card mat.  I made this sentiment with MS word so I could use both the brown and blue colours.  I made a flagged end and then also attached this sentiment with pop dots.  Lastly I used some blue twine and added it to this brown button and then attached it to the card with hot glue.

I really love these colours together.  It is super fun to also make sentiments with MS word because you can add the colours of your cards to really add something special to the card.  Overall I love this card, it is a fun card and this could be a great male card!

Embossing Copic Birthday DT Card

Today's "DT Post Card"

Firstly, my house is still for sale, so it has been hard to make new videos and cards more often!  We are hoping we will be moving within the next month or so and then things can get back to normal!

So for this card did some sewing with some of these Bo Bunny papers.  I love this paperline.  I really like the pink and grey together.  I took some of the grey papers and embossed with some pink embossing powder "happy birthday".  Adhered the papers I sewed to the grey card base and then added the grey sentiment strip.  Then I used this dog image and coloured it up with copics.  I also did this for the balloon and the present.  I added them to the card with some pop dots.  I used some thread to attach the balloon.  Now I wish I would have used grey thread, but next time!  Lastly I added some bling to finish up this card!

DT - Butterfly Challenge

Today's "DT Post Card"

Hey everyone! Welcome to another week over a Stamps & Fun - Creativity!  This week is "butterfly challenge."

I love making these little mini albums.  Actually they are so much work with all the detailed cutting but they always turn out so nice.  I love embossing sentiments and quotes with white embossing powder onto black or dark papers.

There are lots of pockets and elements in this mini-album.

More pockets.  The slits on the right are all hand cut through both layers.  I love to add the little hearts to the top of the pull outs to add some embellishment.

More pullouts including a hidden one at the top between the pages.  There are so many ways to hide an area for something to be pulled out!

More pockets and pullouts.  There is one hidden in the right side of this album.  I plan to do a video tutorial in the future on this mini-album construction.  Stay tuned for that!

Sketch - DT - Challenge

Today's "DT Post Card"

Hey everyone! Welcome to another week over a Stamps & Fun - Creativity!  This week is a Sketch Challenge.

I just love making vintage styled paris/travel items.  This week's sketch challenge I thought about making up another Paris card.  I (if you believe) am still using my old paper line "Paris Nights".  I have had this paper for awhile and still have just a bit left!

I inked all my papers with vintage photo distress ink.  Then I created a frame for my card using this grey card stock and I sewed this "print" paper to it around the edge as well as this roman numeral strip to this piece as well.  I then took a square of this greyish black paper and I used lots of pop dots to pop up this piece.  I then took my printed digi image and matted it up with some black card stock and then popped it up with more pop dots.  I love the layers on this card.  To embellish the card I used a Tim Holtz "imagine" metal piece and a a fleur golden element from Joulees.  To finish it up I added some gold bling to the left top hand corner.

I love this sketch and this card and how it came together.  Sometimes sketches can be frustrating trying to layer light/dark papers so it looks great, but I really love how it finished up!

Embossing Challenge - Copic Coloured

Today's "DT Post Card"

Hey everyone! Welcome to another week over a Stamps & Fun - Creativity!  This week is embossing.  Embossing whether dry or through powders add a lot of cards and can be a lot of fun.

I started out with these beautiful papers from my stash.  I did some sewing and then I used these images and copic coloured them.  I coloured them to match the background colours in the card.  I really like how it turned out.  I took the colourless blender to add the highlights to the balloons.

I cut out the images and then edged them with a black memento marker to add some dimension to the pieces.  I added the balloon cords which was super fun!  I added the pieces with pop dots.  I embossed the sentiment with some light blue embossing powder.  I used a corner rounder on the black cardstock and then attached the sentiment with pop dots.  To finish it up, I added a few bling in the corner.

I love how this card turned out.  This would make a perfect little boy birthday card, it is so cute!  I love the balloon strings, the card just came together perfectly for me!

Male Birthday - Video Card Kit A Series - Card 4

Today's "Class Card"

I love making male cards.  They take some figuring out on how to embellish as you don't really want to use flowers!  I love these little tool charms by MFT.  They are so cute!

To start the card I took some of this paper and did some layering.  On the backside of the paper was these little hammers!  Perfect!  I cut a strip out and layered it on the card.  I added a red ribbon to the card mat and then adhered the whole piece to the card mat.  I had this wonderful worker image and cut it MFT pierced square dies and then did it again with the larger blue piece in behind.  I adhere it with pop dots!  So fun.  I made my own sentiment and colour coded it for the colours in the papers.  I cut it out with a flagged end, and did the same with the blue mat in behind again.

Lastly I made this little sweet hammer with silver foiled cardstock and yellow cardstock.  I added it with some thinner pop dots and the card was finished!

Hogs & kisses - Video Card Kit A Series - Card 3

Today's "Class Card"

For this card I found some of this Teresa Collins paper and I ran a sheer ribbon around.  I attached it to the back with some scotch tape.  Then I attached it to the card base and then layered it with this cool dotted paper I had.  I made a banner out of this dotted paper and then attached it to the card mat.  I had this wonderful pig image and then cut it out with spellbinders dies.  I layered it up with some pink paper for a background mat.  I used some dies and made a few coloured hearts to attach right to the image.  I added this large white button to the card with hot glue.  Lastly I made this sentiment on MS Word.  I like how I used the same colours of the card to help bring it all together!

Check out my tutorial in the video below!
