Grungy 13 and Simon Says say a "word"

Today's "Grungy"

Hey everyone, for this weeks Grungy 13 I had some fun with alcohol inks. I loved the background. I did it on Ranger's Glossy Paper and wow, after I did the background with alcohol inks, did it ever look like glass!!! I almost didn't cover it! I also wanted to do my special "word" for Simon Says Stamp and used "love". I used a Tim Holtz Stamp as well as some brads, buttons, flowers, metal embellishments, and some blind to tie this all together. I colored in the stamp to add some color and depth to the stamped image. I really like how it turned out.

Grungy 12

Today's "Grungy"

Hey everyone. It has been a tough week with my hubby being in the hospital on and off. I think he is finally on the mend. I didn't have much time to do much on the grungy 12, but I did make this piece this evening.

Simon Says Stamp Torn Edges

Today's "Project"

Check out my entry for the Simon Says Stamp Torn Edges challenge! I love this look and put together some really cool Tim Holtz items and some great paper. I even made my own tattered flower which is a first for me! I used buttons, flowers, brads, die cuts, grunge board, thread, ink, bling, and wonderful pictures of my grandma as a young school girl! I also used the new Hero Arts stamp set! I love this one with the stamps and post cards! Let me know what you think!

Grungy 11

Today's "Grungy"

Hey check out my Grungy 11, from the challenges of Tim Holtz. I love the colors and really like this technique. I cut out butterflies and then glued them on top of the stamped image to add dimension and texture. I also added some perfect pearls to the butterflies!

I was asked what colors I used, I used many blues and browns. I used faded jeans, broken china, tumbled glass, and for the browns I used tea dye, brushed corduroy, and walnut stain. I love blue and brown together!!!

Grungy 10 and Simon Says "tag" challenge!

Today's "Grungy"

Hi everyone! I really had fun with this one! There are so many Tim Holtz Techniques. Of course the distressed inks and re-inkers were used. His stamp from his slight alterations collection, on the edge gear die which has been embossed with his black embossing powder. Also the gear from his other sizzix die which has been cracked with his crackle clear paint (and then inked over with black soot)! There is also another stamped image from Tim's mini collections used too. I inked it and then distressed the edges with my scissors! I attached this stamped image with the mini-attached and used alcohol ink to get rid of the silver staple look! I used some fibers that matched the color and wa-la!

This is my entry for this week's Grungy 10 and the Simon Says Stamp Challenge which is "show a tag" this week! Thanks for looking, tell me what you think!

Grungy 9 - One Stamp

Today's "Grungy"

This is for Linda's grungy 9 and also for Simon's Say Stamp contest! Well I have to say when I first saw this stamp I loved it because it had clocks and butterflies in it! I took the stamps and used Tim's technique with paint and clear embossing powder. It turned out great! I also put on some metal embellishments and made the little flowers. I just added some bling in the middle and it looks nice. I also used the gel roll pens to outline a few things of interest in the stamped area and to outline the flowers. The punch is a Martha Stewart punch. Anyways, this was a fun one.

I hope everyone has a good week! Look out this week as I hopefully will post my suit-case project. It is a suit case made of Tim's lost and found paper and metal accents, plus mini-album! Check back for it!
