Spotlight and Donation

"SPOTLIGHT AND 50 CARDS FOR

CARDS FOR CARE ALBERTA"

Cards for care Alberta is handing out cards for International Nursing Day.  I wasn't feeling great for a few weeks before but I still managed to make a few.  Of course I made a few more "male" styled cards as I feel some men don't want flowers and butterflies etc!  I bought some great papers with boats and lighthouses which were great.  I have some great mens card designs coming in the future too!

Cards for care also featured me in their Volunteer Spotlight for March.  My inserts will be used to help volunteers make more cards and help many who can't write so many "inside card sentiments" but who can make many cards.

I was trying to do a few different types of designs.  A lot of my cards always have a "certain look" to them and I was inspired by a youtuber:  Lucy Patrick to use some different design ideas.  I love how she uses washi/PET tapes to build designs on a card.  She also had some great ideas on how to use background dies with multiple cuts to great unique cards both with papers and with stickers/washi.

Again I was mostly experimenting with some new designs.  I have quite a few PET/Washi stickers of girls and poses and I thought it would great for nurses cards.

Here are some of non-girly cards.  I love the planes, boats, and light houses.  The cat card is sweet too.  I have many cat cards in the works so look out for those!

I can't thank all the nurses everywhere for doing such amazing and hard jobs.  I hope that they feel special when Cards for Care delivers their cards for International Nurses Day.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope that you have a great one!

300 Card Donation to Cards for care

"300 CARDS FOR

CARDS FOR CARE ALBERTA"

I always have cards going and in different stages of completion.  I decided to make up and finish 300 Cards for care Alberta this February.  I have different styles, colours, and arrangements.  I took pictures of some of my favourite cards.

Here are some close ups of some of my more favourites:

Cards, cards, and more cards!  I kept track of types of cards and places that they were going to.  I also made sure I made some card specifically for men.  I enjoyed making all the cards and I'm so happy I can donate them to a good cause!

Donation on Valentine's Day

"CARDS FOR

CARDS FOR CARE ALBERTA"

I started making cards for Cards for care Alberta this January and made up 55 cards for Valentine's Day.  I made a few cards up with some pink and red cardstock.  I ordered a cute paper line with these adorable bears and made up some cards from these cute papers.  I plan on a big donation coming later in February but in the meantime, here are some of my favourite cards!

Assisted Living Christmas Cards for 2025

"Christmas Cards made for Assisted Living - 2025"

I started making cards for an Assisted Living Facility near me.  I donated about 500 cards to them during 2024 and about 450 this year.  Here is some of one of the batches I made this year.

Here are a few of the finished cards.  I made so many cards with different colours.

The process of making 165 cards:

I always start out by making the card bases in advance.  Then the next step is to pick out the layered background colour and the golden card mat to layer with.  I also used my cricut to cut the ornaments.  I cut the base of the ornament, the top of the ornament, as well as the foam piece to add some dimension to the card.

Once this is done, I adhere the golden patterned paper onto the foiled background paper and put together the entire ornament.

Now I will adhere the green/golden card mat straight to the black card base.

The next step is to create the golden snowflakes and cut 165 of them on my cricut.  Each ornament is a different size so I had to cut various sizes to fit properly.  Once they are all cut, it is process of using wet glue (Tombow mono liquid glue) that first dries and then adhere it to the ornament.  By using this glue, you don't get a mess because it is still sticky after it dries.

Lastly I created a special inside message using the print and cut method using my cricut.  I used the same types of ornament shapes but inserted the message inside.

It was a long process to do 165 cards but I enjoyed doing them in batches.  I love the gold papers I used (a paper pad from Michaels) and the lovely foiled cardstock.  I really liked the many different colours trying to escape from only green and red.  I hope you enjoyed seeing this process!

Dogs With Wings Donation

"Card Donation to Dogs With Wings"

I was asked to make up some sympathy cards for the Service Dogs who have passed away.   DWW is the charity who has given our family three dogs over the years to support my sons.  They mostly have labrador or retrievers.  I made up a few cards for them using these breeds.  Here are some close ups and a picture of all the cards that I donated!
