DT- Embellishment - Brads

Today's "DT Post Card"

Hey everyone!  This week it is to use brads!

I just love brads and I was so surprised when I went looking for some and had to special order them.  I always have used brads in flowers and as accents on cards!

For this card I took some really great vintage papers and sewed them up with a zig zag stitch.   I took some black cardstock and embossed with some gold embossing powder "congratulations" from a Paper Smooches stamp set.  I adhered this piece onto the card.

I took my grad image and then made 3 holes and added my 3 gold brads.  I love this!  I layered up my grad image with a black mat.  I added this with some pop dots to add some dimension.

Lastly I couldn't resist and added 3 bling to the upper left corner of the card.  I really love how this card looks and I love the papers.  I find brads an awesome embellishment.

I hope you enjoyed this project!  Please check out the other DT members' projects!  Thanks so much for joining me for this Challenge over at Stamps & fun = Creativity!

Make a card 7 - Video Tutorial

Today's "Make a Card 7"

Hey everyone.  I started making this card and decided to film the rest.  I love this technique of colouring over an area that has been embossed.  Everyone loves colouring and this is a fun way to colour and have your design easy to colour!

So I used a Darice embossing folder and then coloured over the embossed area with my zig clean makers.  I thought it was a bit much so I then die cut a piece of the teal card stock with a SSS die.  I love that stitched curved border it makes.  I layered up the pieces on first a piece of the same teal cardstock and then up on a white card base.  I love how the layering looks.

I embossed this sentiment with some white embossing powder using this Jelli-bean stamp set (Sunshine).  I then added some sequins to add just a touch of sparkle and a couple of flowers/brad.

I really have been using my Tim Holtz tool to help place sequins and to help with my card making.  I really find this tool useful!

This was a fun card to make!  Check out this video tutorial!

Make a card 6 - Video Tutorial

Today's "Make a Card 6"

Hey everyone.  I made this beautiful card using some SSS products.  I just love this EMMA stamp.  It is so beautiful.  There were a few other stamps they made but this was my favourite.  I really like the size of it and I love that you can just use it with the acrylic piece that comes with the stamp!

So I did some embossing with this Ranger clear embossing powder and the SSS clear embossing ink.  I then inked it up with some distress inks -- shaded lilac -- peacock feathers -- broken china.  I love these colours together!  After I did this I just wiped off the area I embossed to make sure all the ink came off.

I inked some paper with the shaded lilac and then I die cut it with the SSS large mom die.  I also die cut it also with foam and then put the two pieces together.  I added that to the card and then I added a few sequins to finish up this card.

I just love this stamp and these colours of so beautiful together!  I hope you enjoy the video tutorial of this wonderful card.

DT- Favourite Card Embellishment

Today's "DT Post Card"

Hey everyone!  This week it is to show your favourite card embellishment.

By far my favourite embellishment on anything is die cuts.  Die cuts are awesome and you can them up by varying the papers or even inking them etc.  They can be changed up and you can use them again and again on any project.

In this card I have used many die cuts.  I started out with this wonderful checkered paper and used the SSS stitched circle dies and cut out a circle from the background.  Then I made the frame pieces out of grey.  I put together the shaker set and added black, gold and silver sequins.  I die cut the groom/bride die with both silver card stock and foam to add dimension.  I added this to the card. Lastly I die cut the congratulations out of some of the same silver paper and backed it with stick it tape to make it easier to adhere.  I added this to the card to finish it all up.  I love the colours in this card and the shaker elements inside.

I hope you enjoyed this project!  Please check out the other DT members' projects!  Thanks so much for joining me for this Challenge over at
