Altenew - Class Card 1

Today's "Class Card"

I'm taking a card class through Altenew.

For our class card we had to add pencils to coloured images.  I took this altenew stamp set, Beautiful day, and stamped the leaves and flower.  I coloured it in a bit and then used pencils to add details.  To add some shimmer and to darken the colours, I used clear embossing powder to both the leaves and flowers.  It is hard to see from the picture, but it is pretty glossy.  I outlined both leaves and the flower with memento black marker to have the edges stand out better.

I used MFT grid background stamp and added some purple grid to my 120 lb cardstock.   I added piece of patterned paper to the side of the card to add more interest.  Then I adhered the leaves flat and added the flower with pop dots.

I used this wonderful sentiment which is from a Kaiser Craft stamp set.  I lastly added the few sequins to add a little more shimmer and to finish up the card.

Butterfly Card Kit A Series - Card 5

Today's "Class Card"

Well I decided I better finish posting the last two cards to this card series!  With moving and selling a house time has been lacking to post and be crafty!

For this butterfly card I used some bo bunny papers.  I love these papers!  Of course, blue is my favourite colour!  I used the MFT tag die and die cut this tag.  Then I used some pink ribbon and ran it through the tag.  I took this butterfly image and cut it out.  I used pop dots to place the tag and give it some dimension.  I cut out this "smile" die a couple of times with black card stock and the pink cardstock as well.  This adds a nice raised die cut without using foam!  I lastly added some brads.  I really like how shiny they are and it really completes the card.

I hope you enjoyed this butterfly card.  BTW:  This card kit is all sold out.

Lace and Pearls - DT Post

Today's "DT Post Card"

For this weeks challenge you need to use pearls and lace!  I typically don't use lace much.  I find it bulks up the cards and requires more postage for mailing.  However, lace is beautiful and nice to add for sympathy cards and wedding cards especially!

I started with some white paper and embossed it with an embossing folder.  I love these little dots.  The folder is called Swiss dots.  I will use this as my background.  I wrapped the lace around the white embossed background.  The card base I choose was a green background and from the left over papers, I punched a little border to cover the top of the lace.  I used a Martha Stewart punch and punched this strip.  I then attached that around the white embossed background as well and then adhered it down to the green card base.  I love these layers.

From the same green card stock I used some spellbinders dies to cut out the scalloped background die and then the image.  I used some thin pop dots to put this up on the card mat.  I felt it needed something so I added the pearls in the middle of the flower, the bow, and the pearls to the top right corder of the card.

This card could be used for many different occasions.  I love the look of the lace and pearls together.

I hope you enjoyed this project!  Please check out the other DT members' projects!  Thanks so much for joining me for this Challenge over at Stamps & fun = Creativity!

Use Stripes - DT - Inspirational Card

Today's "DT Post Card"

Hey sorry for posting late.  It is still crazy around here getting things put away but we are finally getting there!

For this weeks card I used some Bo Bunny papers and sewed them up and added a ribbon and a bow.  (These are older Bo Bunny papers, but I bought a few extra pages of this page with the stripes so it works perfect here!)  I adhered this to the main card base.  I love using stripes.  I think they are super for boys and male cards but also a fun design in the background!

I took this wonderful image and die cut it up using a spellbinder labels die.  I used pop dots to attach it to the card.  Lastly I used some pearls and a flower to finish it up!

I hope you enjoyed this project!  Please check out the other DT members' projects!  Thanks so much for joining me for this Challenge over at Stamps & fun = Creativity!
